SOCOTEC strengthens its positions in Spain with the acquisition of Intercontrol
SOCOTEC Group, a leader in Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) for the building and infrastructure sectors, strengthens its position in Spain with the acquisition of Intercontrol Levante.
This acquisition reinforces SOCOTEC Spain's position in the Spanish market by adding a strong and recognized presence in the Valencia region and 140 experts in quality control, geotechnics, construction materials testing, civil engineering consulting and environmental services.
SOCOTEC is an international leader with 14,000 people and 1.6 billion euros in revenue in risk management and technical consulting for the construction, real estate, and infrastructure sectors. The group supports companies on their projects throughout the lifecycle of built assets.
With the acquisition of Intercontrol, a company headquartered in the Valencian Community with four sites: Valencia, Carlet, Ibiza, and Teruel, SOCOTEC Spain complements its presence beyond the regions of Catalonia and Madrid, thus strengthening its national footprint, and increases its total turnover by 25%.
Intercontrol is a company of 140 experts, operating a 2000 m² geotechnical, environmental and construction materials testing laboratory based in Carlet. It provides a wide range of services, excelling particularly in quality control for civil engineering, as well as in geotechnics. Additionally, the company distinguishes itself through its experience in environmental analysis and studies and civil engineering consulting. It is particularly involved in the reconstruction work in the Valencia area following the disastrous floods of October 2024.
SOCOTEC Spain becomes a key player in the Spanish market for infrastructure and construction projects.
