(LPG) in Tamatave (Toamasina), on the east coast of the island, on the GRT (Galana Raffinerie Terminal) site. As part of this project, control missions will be carried out to ensure that the works is in line with the higher standards of the construction.

Project Summary
VITOGAZ Madagascar plans to build a new Liquefied Petroleum Gas import terminal (LPG) in Tamatave (Toamasina), on the east coast of the island, on the GRT (Galana Raffinerie Terminal) site. As part of this project, control missions will be carried out to ensure that the works is in line with the higher standards of the construction.
This construction project has the following objectives:
- To ensure storage of buffer gas, bulk and packaged, for the Eastern region but also for the entire island in the event of supply difficulties from Mahajanga;
- To ensure security of supplies with regard to cyclonic risk with the creation of two deposits on opposite coasts of the island.
Project Details
For this project, SOCOTEC Madagascar will support the client on all technical inspection lots:
- Safety prevention to ensure a zero-risk construction site,
- Technical control of construction via an “L” mission,
- Control of electrical installations, non-destructive testing of tanks, pipes and pressure equipment.
The client positions himself in a French control reference system, which is totally in line with the local rules of Construction.
