PROJECT SUMMARY
SOCOTEC, an independent trusted third-party, has signed a contract to carry out regulatory inspections of the equipment infrastructure found at the five UNESCO premises in France. These inspections focus primarily on electrical equipment and lifts as well as the fire safety system at the main building.
PROJECT DETAILS
The Paris headquarters of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Science and Culture Organization) are at the Maison de l’UNESCO, located at Place Fontenoy in the 7th arrondissement. It is home to multiple conference rooms and a large collection of artworks. Its adjoining buildings are located 400 metres away, on rue Bonvin Miollis in the 15th arrondissement. In total, these two sites cover an area of 135,000 m².
SOCOTEC’s Equipment & Industry experts were asked to conduct all regulatory inspections required on infrastructure equipment found in these buildings. Their work will focus on the electrical equipment and lifts. Special attention will be paid to the fire safety system at the Bonvin Miollis site, subject to IGH (High-Rise Building) regulations that aim to ensure that structures are adequately protected from fire and panic risks.
Talk to our experts
"UNESCO has been a historical client for twenty years. We had lost them at one point, a decade back, when their contact person retired. They have since tested all our competitors. We continued to submit a new offer to them every year. The breadth of our know-how eventually paid off. This year, we signed a new comprehensive contract covering several services essential to the safety of the infrastructure equipment involved."
